I'm writing this on the 31st, but you'll probably see it only on the 1st of January (or after).
Just thought my Carlsberg post should be a sticky for awhile as to not bombard you with so many posts at once after the long and repeated hiatus.
To be frank new year's eve is just another day to me. And at most, just another reason to lepak with my friends or party. I don't see the new year as 'owh, that's the end of my old me. Time for a new me'. In that 365 days, we were given all the time to make changes to ourselves and our lives where it seems fit. The transition from 2011 to 2012 is nothing but a change in digits after all, not a change of life.
And so it turns out New Year's day didn't feel any different either. Except maybe the many Happy New Year wishes being exhanged all around, and with me.
I'm not saying I'm not grateful for everything that has happened in year 2011. I am nothing but. But I truly believe that everyday should be like new years day; a day of renewed hope and belief, a day to be thankful and appreciate your loved ones; a day for change.
2011 in particular was a particular year filled with change; lover lost and gained, friends who came and went. Nonetheless, to all of them I am particularly grateful. For bringing me joy, sadness, and emotions I never even knew I was capable of. Yes, even for the moments that made me break down like fuck, I'm thankful. I'm thankful for the lesson learnt and taught, the laughter brought and taken away; the heartbreak, the mending.
Because there is only two ways to live life; one where nothing is a miracle, and the other, everything is.
It has been a long year, and I am thankful that the year ended with even more blessings; more opportunities and more challenges. Challenges means moving forward, no? ;)
2011 was great, but 2012 will be better. I'll make sure of that.
So here's to a new year filled with endless possibilities, opportunities, challenges and blessed with love and determination for hard work!
Let's make the impossibru, possibru.
kisses.
